This beautiful handcrafted necklace, was made in the USA with sterling silver and South African dumortierite quartz. Dumortierite is a unique quartz stone that is reminiscent of well worn jeans. It is a medium blue with darker inclusions of blue. The sterling is a thick unique shape surrounding the stone with an open top. The sterling chain comes with the piece and is a 3.1 mm double rope adding significance to the piece.
This would be great to wear everyday with jeans or striking with evening attire. It is truly versatile and striking. The total length of the necklace is an 11 1/2" drop, the pendant is 1 1/4" width and 1 1/4" length.
Dumortierite is a rare quartz gemstone. It is named for the discoverer, paleontologist Eugene Dumortier in Lyon, France in 1881. It is a very hard gemstone, making it a prized jewel.
