This beautiful reflective blue labradorite necklace is 4 ct, and 6.5 x 18.5mm in size. It is hand cut and polished in Travel Ore Designs Fort Collins jewelry studio. The silver is artistically done by hand in a simple setting to make the iridescent of the stone shine.
This gemstone comes from Norway and is a gorgeous iridescent blue. As the light catches it, you can see all the beautiful pearly shades of blue. Unfortunately, the camera didn't catch the beauty as much as is reality.
Labradorite was first found in 1770 in Labrador, Canada thus the name. It is in the feldspar family and is a 6-6.5 on the Mohs hardness scale. The spectacular displays in this gem is famous for it's "labradorescence." (A new word coined for labradorite).
Labradorite is most often seen made by custom jewelers and small independent jewelry shops like Travel Ore Designs and rarely by mass produced jewelers. This make it that much more special.
All of the silver work and stone work was done by Travel Ore Designs Artist, Mark Nelson. Additional matching pieces can be special ordered as supplies last.
All Travel Ore Designs jewelry comes in a beautiful gift box.
