Beautifully inverted turquoise teardrop forms almost a heart pendant. The Royston Turquoise is set in sterling silver, wrapped in a rope twist of sterling and backed with solid sterling which is stamped with 925 representing the sterling and Travel Ore Designs Shop logo. The bale is sterling and a continuous piece wrapped around from the back to the front and with a large enough chain slot for various chain widths. An 18" double rope sterling chain is included.
This beautiful high quality turquoise stone was mined at the Royston mines in Nevada by our daughter and her family. Turquoise quality is determined by hardness, rarity and purity. This turquoise is very hard. There's an inclusion area across the front of the piece which adds interest. Royston turquoise has been mined since 1904 and has become very scarce. It is a highly sought after gemstone, sold in the finest of jewelry shops. A large percentage of Native American Turquoise jewelry has been made from these mines. To own a piece made from Royston Turquoise is to own a piece of history.
